Mandatory Safety Program (Safety Bulletin #60).
Solution
On August 3, 2001, Konica issued a mandatory safety program for the Model 7823. This notification (Safety Bulletin #60) mandated the installation of a
polyswitch device. This procedure only requires approximately ten minutes to complete. It is essential that this device be immediately installed on all
remaining model 7823 copiers. Failure to install this modification on a timely basis may increase the risk of an electrical discharge which could have the
potential to ignite toner in the toner supply area.
In addition, Konica has established a labor reimbursement program as outlined in the safety bulletin, which will soon expire. You must complete the necessary
modifications and send the claim form to Konica by November 3rd to receive labor reimbursement.
Konica Business Technologies is very concerned about the safety related issues. Although the possibility of toner ignition is remote, we strongly urge you to
ensure that you complete this program by November 3rd. Failure to do so may place your company and customers at increased risk and liability.

P-4 NG (Surface Potential Detection Sensor Failure)
Solution
CAUSE: A dirty of failed drum surface potential sensor (UN22).
SOLUTION: The toner used as a drum lubricant at set up or when the drum is replaced may collect on the drum surface potential sensor. This sensor is
located on the frame to the right of the drum. If cleaning this sensor does not resolve the problem, replace the PWB detecting assembly (p/n 25TU-9060).
The drum surface potential sensor (UN22) is part of the PWB detecting assembly.
